3 Screen blog

All 3 screens    https://youtu.be/9EjRe_bDs8Q Screen 1 https://youtu.be/n42VZaCEHPY Screen 2  https://youtu.be/OAFS-ipq_cE Screen 3  https://youtu.be/EJ7rQkyhOUY   For my 3 Screen Project, I originally, I wanted to centre it around a TV Screen and watching myself and then watching myself watch myself on the screen, one screen would be me watching the screen and the second screen would be the screen I was watching. I didn't have a solid idea of what I wanted to do for the third screen so I thought I would add another eye to add to the idea of 'watching' which this piece explores. The running POV shots I added to the piece also represent the other aspect of sight of ones own perspective. How the static and the eye were achieved While I am unsure of what it means, there is a setting on the TV called 'mono', which when pressed goes to a static screen, which I've always known about, this is the first time it has ever been useful for something.  The eye was achieved t

Unreal Game 5

Today I exported the game for submission at home as the machines at the university did not contain a windows software development kit which I needed to export the game as a .EXE file. Because the version of Unreal I have is slightly different at home and my machine has different specifications, the game ran differently and for some reason, the cursor didn't appear on the menus and the monster was much faster than when I tested it on the university machine, I fixed both issues fairly quickly, for some reason, changing the player's gravity changed the speed to be much faster than they were, which I used to best fix the issue. Now all that is left to do is organise the game files for submission.

Unreal Game 4

Today I found a Bug which I had not discovered before in the game. Possibly because the in-game check for the amount of keys the player has and the visual display of the timer, the door will only unlock after the minute counter goes up by one, after you have all 4 keys. As finding a solution likely won't be easy I added decals and lighting to make the level more complex. Either way I am glad that I have found the cause of the issue as I was looking for hours yesterday, unable to figure why I couldn't finish the level. Now aside from fixing the bug with the door at the end of the level, all I need for the game is the final time you get after finishing the level and damage from the enemy AI. Not too difficult but as always in Unreal, easier said than done.

Unreal Game 3

Today has been a big day for the development of the game itself, (with much assistance). I have implemented HUD elements such as an interaction prompt, timer and page-counter. as well as the code for collecting notes and functionality for the door at the end of the level. All that remains now is programming the enemy AI and a health system. I also need to slightly refine the environment more, making sure all the geometry aligns and also add in more furniture. I also need to remember to tweak the movement speed as I haven't changed it since the creation of project, it feels slightly sluggish still at the moment but it could be possible to change the scale of the playable character too as that feels slightly off to me also. Sadly, due to being new to Unreal and having an upcoming deadline I have decided to cut the camera flash stun mechanic in the interest of making sure the other mechanics are bug free and fully functional. This decision was not taken lightly however as there is a
