Photoshop Animation 2

Image
This week we focussed on Rotoscoping animation in Photoshop. I enjoyed the freedom it gave compared to other animation we had done, especially using animation to represent the motion in a video such as with the buggy video where the animation is following the motion and therefore the focal point for the spectator. If I were ever to use animation in a project I would prefer to rotoscope instead of using the puppet-warp like previous Photoshop animations. For my independent animation with my own footage, I decided to reuse an EX close-up shot from a previous project and expanded on the idea of the shot of representing an abrupt awakening. This very much inspired the monochrome to high saturation CMYK pallet I used

Photoshop Animation 1

Over this week I have come to grips with using video animation in Photoshop, using cycles as a starting point. Animation beyond stretching and distorting as with the ball animation, the puppet-warp tool is required for articulation of limbs. The most difficult part of animating is photoshop is doing everything in order and considering every step without doing anything out of order such as making sure each frame is spaced correctly, layers don't overlap etc. The looping on my third animation was difficult because the cliffs moved too fast for the figure.

Audio

Image
01/11/2022 - Today I learned about operating zooms and microphones as well as audio in digital media as a whole. I also collected audio samples with my group. 03/11/2022 +  04/11/2022 On both these days we used the microphones to gather sound around campus to use in our own projects. On our first recording session we accidentally recorded only through one channel but in a stereo format, on the second session we remembered the absolute pain and suffering caused by having to fake mono with stereo so we just recorded in mono to begin with.
