InDesign 1

Image
In our first session of InDesign, on the 25th we learnt the essentials of InDesign with aspects such as columns, margins, formatting text, fixing errors, positioning images etc. We also tried a second attempt at album covers using InDesign editing and tools which is almost identical, at least on a surface level in comparison to illustrator with the pathfinder and pen. We also edited images using TIFF files created in Photoshop and then using InDesign tools to create an outcome which would have been more complex in Photoshop. Completing the process through InDesign allowed for many quick variations and ideas. My First Website

Image
This is the first website I made using Dreamweaver today. I learnt the bare essentials including inserting text, images, buttons and hyperlinks. Later on, I also followed a tutorial on LinkedIn learning regarding the basics of Dreamweaver, so far I have learnt how to create textboxes as well aligning assets on a page.

The five commandments of UX/ Web Design

   1. Consistency - Share the same Icons, layout, font etc. across pages   2. Minimalism - Everything that is included should be relevant and have purpose. 3. Logic - Apply real-world logic that is obvious and universally recognisable 4. User control - Make it apparent you want the user to have the ability freely utilise and navigate the site with ease. 5. Flexibility - Much like user control, you want the experience to be personalized and customizable.

MAY THE BEST COFFEE SHOP WIN!!! (An analysis)

➊ Could the sites do anything better to present the actual interior atmosphere of their shop?  Coffee Island -  Exemplary, shows an interior that has people and staff inside Prufrock - shows empty seats and exterior, feels quite clinical despite likely being the smallest brand.  Starbucks - only exterior again feels corporate due to lack of images aside from products.   ➋ Were there any other qualities about the different sites that this activity didn't take into account? Which menu is best divided - some do a list, some divided, others - not a single menu in sight   ➌ If you were asked to work with a team to build a new coffee shop's website - which example would you be more influenced by and why? Coffee Island - it understands 'the coffee shop experience' and is near perfection aside from missing an in-store menu    ➍ If you were making a site for a different purpose (eg. portfolio site), what sort of 'scenario' would you create to test examples?  ''

Bench Project

Image
On Friday the 2nd December we reshot our park bench projects as the initial material of each group was insufficient. (i.e. no clapper board, no audio from zooms for a majority of shots, not knowing the maximum height of the tripod and various other blunders) I wrote the script and illustrated a (vague) storyboard for the shoot as well as directing and acting. The shoot, although a lengthy process, was fairly simplistic as most shots were completed in 2-3 takes and we filmed on only one location. The cold certainly didn't help... When we got to the editing part of the process, I was slightly overambitious in my editing such as having the final shot be a freeze-frame of my final line with a slow fade of saturation, high to low and also then in another idea for the final shot, using a blur effect instead of a dissolve. Ultimately, the most difficult part of the entire process was matching .wav files to their respective clips because of the sheer amount to go through, with tools and

Wordpress

https://ca-net.herts.ac.uk/~sp22aby/wordpress/         After setting up my website to the host, I began to create a visual aesthetic and layout for my Wordpress Portfolio Page. I decided to use generic names rather than software for categories as the layout will become confusing I use multiple software for one project such as with audition and premiere. Initially I found it difficult to map out how the pages flow and connect in my head but aside from that the process has been fairly simple.
